Wakanda Forever | Theme Park Pitch

A pitch by: Anushka Nair, Chelsea Drinkwater, and Nathan Clark

Park Narrative: Guests are being given a tour of Wakanda, but each major attraction is a different characters interpretation of what that tour should be/include.

Wakanda forever is a dream come true for any wanting to experience the world of Black Panther. Heavily drawing influence from the hit movie, Black Panther; Wakanda Forever is a park that blends traditional African cultures with new modern technology. Upon first entering Wakanda Forever, guests will be greeted with a large Black Panther sculpture arching over the entrance gate. Once they pass through the gate they will be flanked on either side by the traditional but modern “skyscrapers”(those from the movie), a faux mountain range with a waterfall in the distance, and a fusion of African/Modern music to get people energized. Going further in, guests will find the center of the park, where all paths meet from the many different attractions found around the park.

In this area guests will find a large canopy in the center, where they may sit and eat the food they order within the area. Under the canopy will be large communal tables, allowing guests to experience the emphasis that African cultures place upon community. Under this self same canopy is where cultural shows and dances will be held. With multiple Wakandan tribes coming from every corner of the park, and converging at this location to hold a larger scale show. When not enjoying the shows, guest will be able to visit the nearby Cultural Center.

Inside the Cultural Center, guests will find a large curated museum housing artifacts and information relating to the Black Panther universe as well as what cultures inspired it. There will also be a large indoor restaurant featuring cuisine from Ethiopia and Uganda. As well as an indoor guided ride/experience that gives the key highlights and new information not found within the museum. Going back outside, guest will be able to make out another attraction at the park, the waterfall.

This waterfall attraction is a replica from the one in the Black Panther movie, and is one of the main attractions of the park. Guests will be able to go up and get a view of the park from the waterfalls; but the best part is the ride. Starting at the waterfall there will be a Vibranium Train rollercoaster that plunges down the waterfall and runs through the park, giving our Wakanda tourists a view of the whole “country”. From this ride and other vantage points throughout the park, guest will be able to make out the palace.

Inside the palace is another one of the main attractions, the 4D ride that has guests get “inside” one of the hoverships found in Shuri’s Lab. This ride will start out as a peaceful but exciting ride that tours places like the large underground vibranium mine, Wakanda’s countryside, and then ends with reentering the city through the city hologram to find themselves witnessing the battle that ensues during Infinity War. On the more commercial side of things, guests will have the opportunity to purchase merchandise from shops near the entrance in the “skyscraper” buildings with merchandise like: Shuri’s Gauntlet, Black Panther Necklace, Nakia’s Circular Blade, Hologram Bracelet, jewelry that is African/futuristic, more traditional jewelry that is African and not futuristic, Wakandan/African clothes, Wakanda Cookbook, and one of the signature drinks of the park “Panther Power”. A purple drink that empowers the imbiber the power of the Black Panther. It will be a reusable plastic container that has a panther head as a topper. There will also be a hotel that guests may stay at; featuring several different floors inspired by different Wakandan tribes within the movie.
